Class: Deciphering Knitting Patterns
Instructor: Sandi Rosner
Dates: Saturday, June 29, 2019. 10-noon.
About this class:
Knitting patterns are writing in a language all their own. There is little standardization, so each designer or publisher develops their own dialect. How is a knitter supposed to make sense of it all?
Sandi Rosner has been writing and editing knitting patterns for nearly 20 years. In this class, she'll walk you through the anatomy of a knitting pattern. You'll learn to decode abbreviations, stitch patterns, and repeats. You'll also learn some techniques for keeping track of where you are in a pattern.
Materials - Bring pencil and paper/notebook or digital equivalent. ALSO - Bring a knitting pattern you've been wanting to tackle. Even better if it's a pattern that confuses you!
