Designer Åsa Tricosa's clever shoulder shaping technique forms the basis of this top-down sweater. A column of rib stitches with small cables adds visual interest to the front of the body and is repeated at the sleeve cuffs and neck.

NEEDLES and NOTIONS
32"–40" circular needle, size 7 (4.50 mm) or size to obtain gauge
32"–40" circular needles, sizes 6 (4.00 mm) and 4 (3.50 mm)
Note: This assumes you will use the Magic Loop technique; other needles may be required if you prefer to use 2 circular method or dpns.

NOTE From a regular cast on for the back, Macaba is knitted top down, winding its way back and forth using Åsa’s Top-Down Ziggurat Tricnique with built-in sleeve caps. The sleeves can be knitted either using Magic Loop or on two circular needles. The lined collar is knitted last.
