Prerequisites:  Must know how to crochet a chain and double crochet stitch.  Note:  We offer private instruction if you'd like to learn how to crochet!  Just give us a shout!

About this class: Come try out this addictive technique. It’s not mosaic, it’s not tapestry, it’s a completely different technique that uses stitches placed in front of or behind the previous row to produce some truly unique stitch patterns. This is the first block in a series of 12 different designs. We will learn a new block each month with a final 13th class dedicated to putting your squares together. Make 1 of each square for a baby blanket or table runner, 2 of each for a lapghan or large wrap, make 4-6 for a full sized afghan.

Materials - Materials for class are available for purchase at Cheers To Ewe! and are not included in the price of this class.  All materials purchased for classes are 10% off for students enrolled in the class.

  • Size E crochet hook (or appropriate for your yarn weight)
  • At least 2 balls of each color for a 2 color baby blanket. Multiple colors can be used for stash busting.
  • Sample was made in Ultra Wool Fine (Gray) and Louisa Harding Pittura (multicolor). Heavily contrasting yarns are best for this type of work. Any weight yarn will work. Berroco Sox would make a great alternative to the Pittura for a washable/dryable item.
  • Pattern - Pattern is free from ilonaslowlifecreations.co.za
Wacky Weave Squares CAL. Please print off your copy before class.

Please bring your notion bag to classes.

PATTERN is free from ilonaslowlifecreations.co.za . Please bring your notions bag to every class.  Please DO NOT begin this project before class unless class homework has been included in the class description or is sent out by the teacher before class.  Teachers often incorporate foundational techniques and lessons in the beginning stages of class, and you will not be able to take advantage of that learning if you jump ahead.
